DIRECTOR – LICENSEE
Diploma of Conveyancing
“The pleasure comes from telling my client that the job has been completed. That’s probably my favourite part.”
Claire is the ‘air traffic controller’ who works tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure clients of Refreshing Settlements enjoy a calm, stress-free experience. To fully understand how she does it, imagine Claire in the office of an agency she worked for previously. Here she noticed a fundamental flaw in the settlement process – it assumed clients knew as much as agents did, essentially dropping them in the deep end and expecting them to swim. In reality, most enter the process with little or no experience buying or selling property. The result? Confusion, errors, oversights, delays and needless pressure, adding to the uncertainty and vulnerability clients experience at what is already a stressful time upending their lives.
When Claire saw an opportunity to open a settlement agency with partner Dean, she knew what would take that stress away – putting clients first. Compassionate, empathetic, patient and fiercely loyal, Claire understands that while the process may be second nature for her, the same may not be true for her clients. She quickly diffuses any threatened or insecure feelings with her warm and social personality, genuinely invests herself in the personal stories of her clients to understand their situations, and goes out of her way to explain even the smallest of details, leaving them calm, comfortable and in control along the journey. It all feels seamless. Behind it all, Claire is deploying her vast knowledge and process-driven approach to facilitate a smooth and secure transfer of title. It’s a surprisingly complicated, high responsibility process, involving registering important documents and handling large sums of money. Precision fact-checking is critical to ensure a safe and compliant settlement. No pressure, Claire!
And that’s exactly what she accomplishes. Claire revels in the challenge of helping clients get from point A to point B in the most efficient way possible, with the least amount of stress. In an instantaneous society where people expect things to be turned around instantly, it takes patience and discipline to follow a process thoroughly from start to finish. Open communication and expectation setting is critical. There are little detours along the way with problems that need to be solved. Yet if you trust the process and stay the course, the outcome takes care of itself. And when it does, that’s when Claire gets to enjoy her favourite part of the job. That special moment when her client’s name is on the title, with correct spelling and address, all registered at the land title’s office. Her job is done – but their next life chapter is just beginning.
I look forward helping you make the transition to you new home.
